“If you could completely change the way you speak, would you?”

The Improper Identity is a based-on-a-true-story sci-fi comedy about accents, identity, and belonging. Written, directed, and performed by Miho Suzuki, the show follows a Japanese immigrant who discovers a device that can make your accent "proper."

Through laughter, eye-opening discoveries, and Japanese Kamishibai storytelling, The Improper Identity celebrates the beauty of every voice.
